Guest guest
Connie and Rose, I quess I'm beginning to see why people sometimes get upset with me. I get my 'House' moments at times...being snotty and acting so impatient with people...especially when I'm in enormous amounts of pain. I think for House (and me)it's a combination of being in pain, being self-centered at moments, emotional abuse from the past(his dad, etc.), dealing with those in authority who are stupid, some unresolved bitterness and deep disappointments........., knowing that you are smart enough to mess with people's heads and not realizing that you are sometimes abusing them. I have to remind myself that this is just a character and not a real person when I watch and I sympathize with him. Despite his shortcomings...he really does call people out on their crap...which I am also known for doing. Maybe he could be nicer and more diplomatic but oftentimes there is an emergency going on and he has to cut right through the crap and get to the crux of the matter. That is why he is so good at what he does. These medical cases are usually emergencies and he doesn't really have the time to always be nice. He is pretty good at seeing who people really are and asking the questions no one else thinks to ask or has the balls to ask. But these are often the answers that put the picture together and get the real diagnosis. If I had to choose a nice incompetent doc(hmmmm...sounds like the one I have...), or a snotty smart one...I'll take the smart-ass anyday. I always thought the real measure of a man is the way he treats a child and House is relatively a sweetheart to them. The rest of the people get 'tough love' . I would take House as my doc any day. ...just my opinion...lol. S. Rose wrote: I know, Connie, he is so obnoxious. But then there will be a moment, a connection with a patient, and it's so great. It's like golfing; the lousiest golfers (I'm speaking from experience here) keep going back because every once in a while you hit such a pretty shot--the ball contact felt good, it's straight, nice lift & distance. You might only do that once a month, but you just keep going back. I think that's why I watch House. When you glimpse a bit of compassion in him, it's really nice. Am I nuts? Do I need to get more of a life? No one raised the possibility that he could have had cold sores (Herpes type I), which can be spread down south. But the kid still had faith at the end. Now this is how I remember the show--if someone else has a different version, speak up. After all, it was 2 nights ago! Someone let me know - I hatenot seeing the end.Terri G.>> ,>> I did a little research about tv stations that have that "Doc" tv showin Kentucky. Are far as I know they are only broadcast on PAX Tv or PAXTelevision. Only one station/channel in Kentucky that has this PAX Tvand this is Channel # 21 in Louisville, Kentucky. If you live far awayfrom this so you don't get reception, then you're going have to havecable tv or dish tv network. I know in a general sense, that women or aalot of women just like to watch these tv shows because they show menwho they view as "HUNKS" or "Chipps & Dales" dudes. Guest guest
, I kinda got abused the other way when it came to doctors. One in particular thought he was Einstein and came within a gnats hill of killing me (literally). God's good grace is the only reason he didn't. I agree though, House goes straight for the jugular, and sometimes that's the only way to fly. Valid point, well spoken.....Connie Solberg wrote: Connie and Rose, I quess I'm beginning to see why people sometimes get upset with me.
