Guest guest
Hi Anne: Way to go to getting money from family support. I believe our family support is changing because of the law that was passed regarding autistic children. The child waver act I believe it's called. Anyway we will be losing our funding next year because of this program. At least in OUtagamie County needs to "pool" their money in to this program. Not sure if we'll be able to get funding for Leah or what. Will need to check this out more. We will be getting Leah a touchscreen for Christmas from everyone as it costs $335 for the screen and cord. That way she won't have to use the mouse at all and can play all the "average" kids computer games out there. I'm so excited for her to get this. Anyway a couple of fun educational toys in some ways that both my boys have loved and , who is 11, continues to play them occasionally is Pajama Sam and Putt Putt. They need to figure out how to do something before they can solve the problem. And in one Putt Putt game going to the race before he gets to the race he has to get tires, gas, etc; and he needs to do things for others (sort of like acts of kindness) in order to get these items. The library may have these. It's a good memory sort of game. Good luck in choosing. Now there is some extra money that has to be spent by Dec 15. I thought I would use it for computer software programs for the boys. I was hoping for recommendations - software has to be educational. Zach has particular need for problem solving help but for both anything educational you might have good experience with is helpful. It is quite a bit of money so I am interested in not only stuff for this age but also for a few years from now. Usually families only get these funds every 3 or so years. Zachary is 11 and in 5th grade Sam is 6 and in kindergarten. We already have earobics, all the jump starts and reader rabbits, thinking thing 1 and 2 plus a bunch of preschool ones and non educational ones. Thanks Anne Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.

Guest guest
Anne, My boys have loved the Backyard Baseball, Football, etc. programs. Seeing that the boys don't always have the energy to play they may enjoy figuring out strategies. Also the Jump Start programs have been some of the programs my boys used and enjoyed.
