Guest guest
The following was written by 's sister and was emailed to me. I've copied it in its entirety for you to read: Hi Again, I probably should not even be writing an update tonight, I'm so frustrated and depressed with how things are going with Cynce. We went up to see her tonight, she has been moved to 6CVA room 141. She had called me this morning when she was still in ICU and was upset that they had her stand today, she said that she felt like her insides were going to fall out and that it was so painfull. [Note: 's surgical incision was left open and has not been closed yet. That's probably why she made the above statement.] I explained that they would need to move her around so she would not get a pneumonia. She is nothing like she was after the first surgery, she is hardly able to stay awake more than 5 minutes at a time. She asks for Toradol (sp?) and says that when it gets close to the time for her to have it, her kidneys start hurting. I saw Dr. McConnell tonight and asked him about her kidneys and he said all the tests show that her kidneys are fine, but that she is a " little dry " , I said " is that because of a lack of fluids " ? and he said " oh,several things could cause it, but did not elaborate. One of the residents came in and said " Aren't we going to do a upper GI on you " ? Cynce said that she did not know...I asked about her blood count, I was told by one that it was fine, and by another that it was elevated and had not changed in the last 3 days. Dr. Deveney will be back tomorrow and maybe we can get some of these questions answered. I'm still so worried about her, she was given insulin today because her sugar was too high...she sounds drunk when you talk to her, or at the very least like her tongue is 5 inches thick. Sorry to sound so negative tonight, but I feel so helpless and I just want her better soon. Maybe I will have better news tomorrow I'm staying in touch with her family on a daily basis. I'm also planning a trip back down to Portland. I'll keep you guys posted on whatever I learn. gobo DS pre-op BMI 55.5 " Sometimes We Never Know How We Influence the Lives of Others, Yet We Touch Those Lives Just the Same "
