Guest guest Posted March 3, 2004 Report Share Posted March 3, 2004 Got home last night but was too tired to post. I actually got some answers this time after the gastro tests I had done. Turns out I have really high bacteria in my digestive system so Dr. Falk gave me two types of antibiotics to take for a few weeks and see if that helps some of my symptoms. The gastric emptying study showed that the eggs emptied my stomach in 118 minutes with the normal being 90 minutes. The test was still abnormal he said, although he didn't say if it meant I have gastroparesis. Dr. Falk didn't think this was significant enough to contribute to my symptoms. He did say that motility can change from day to day though. He didn't really say why he thought I have such an abnormal amount of bacteria, just said he wants me to have more motility tests done. Apparently he thinks I have motility problems in my lower digestive tract. Right now I have to take the antibiotics and see what happens. I have to go back for more testing but I've decided to put it off for a few months. Still haven't heard anything back from my sleep study I had last week although my insomnia has improved.
