So .... I are "different" .... are I?

Thank you, Jeanne. That is beautiful! I will share this with my daughter, who feels very "different" even though I tell her the things she is feeling are not different at all from what I felt as a teen, or from what every other teen is feeling today, even the "nomal" ones. The only really different thing is how you choose to see yourself. I understand her hurt, as we all do, I wish I could make it better, but really she is the only one who can do that. Heck, the "pretty" girl at school who picks on everyone else had a huge pimple on her chin the other day and was meaner than ever, one can assume because she felt more "different" than usual that day. Teenagers are very self-centered creatures and once my daughter figures out, as I have, that most people are just too self-absorbed and focused on their own imaginary "defects" to really notice or care about anyone else's she can start to enjoy life. I wish I had known 40 years ago how unimportant all those trivial things are, what a grand time I'd have had! :)
