Guest guest
Hi, I've posted a few times, read a lot, and now I have another question. My son, Asher, just had a muscle and skin biopsy as well as CSF, blood, urine, labs done by Shoffner in Atlanta. We expect results in about 2 1/2 more months. Shoffner is looking at mitochondrial disease, other metabolic disorders, and the various myopathies. I suspect that Asher has gastric motility problems which may account for his lack of appetite, some of why his tummy is so distended, why he doesn't like to eat in the latter 1/2 the day [still too full from the morning], reflux, etc. I don't want him to start taking Reglan or have surgery or even undergo the testing for the problem - he's had so much testing already!!! So, I just want to see if there's anything else I can do to alleviate the problem. He does drink pediasure and I've heard that that can be hard for kids with gastric motility - do you have any ideas?
