Guest guest
Hi Thanks alot for all the esponses so far. Everyone of you who has a Zevex seems to really like it and that is what we would like Matt to have. Have your insurance companies paid for it? We spoke to ours today and they wont--they will only pay for the PET. I asked why couldnt they just pay what they paytowards the PET and we would make up the difference, but they won't budge--for now. If your insurance said no, how did you get around it? I was hoping a letter of medical necessity would help and we could appeal. Any ideas? Thanks again, Jill, Matts mom, scad
Guest guest
Jill, We switched DME companies at one time to find one that carried the Zevex. I do believe that we needed a letter of medical necessity at one time also but don't know for sure since the GI clinic handled all of it. Is changing your DME carrier an option or is it your insurance itself that is refusing? Maybe a letter of appeal by you would help also. Good luck, Loriann
Guest guest
Jill, Our insurance company said the same thing we fought it and got letters from the pediatician and GI and it was approved. Just stay on top of them. Good Luck! Heidi

Guest guest
Thanks for the encouragement Heidi. We are going to torture them until they give in. I am tired of all the red tape--the kids need what they need. Jill
Guest guest
Jill, Stay strong it will work out, get all the proper documentation. I called everyday until finally they said you need this, this, and this and you should be all set! 3 weeks later we turned in our PET for a Zevex.
