Besides the happy or grateful list...you can make alot of other helpful, insightful lists. 1) things to do when you feel like kicking someone 2) music to play when you want to fill a bucket with your tears 3) music to play when you don't want to cry.....mood-changing music 4) friends to call when you really need someone to listen to all your crap and they won't judge you cuz they have their own crap 5) people not to talk to or see when you are already depressed and they never make you feel better...in fact they usually make you feel worse 6) people who are genuinely happy for you and never jealous or in competition with you for whatever reason 7) people who always smile when they see you 8) people who look away or roll their eyes when they see you coming 9) people who smile often in general 10) people who look like they swallowed prunes and they got

stuck in their throat or they may be constipated...lol Obviously this list could be continued ad infinitum but I think you get the point. The people under 4, 6, 7 and 9 are keepers and the people under 5, 8 and 10 avoid at all costs or at least set realistic boundaries. Or...find a way to connect with them cuz sometimes you're married to them or they are close relatives. I hated my dad for years until I decided to pray for him and it helped. Then a few years after he died i found some of his journals and i was able to see him as a fallible human being just like me. I have decided that he did the best he could with what he had and what he knew at the time. Forgiveness has done my mental health wonders and I am sure it has also helped my physical health, too.
