Guest guest
Hello All: I had to go through that long and boring testing yesterday for the second time in just over a year. Bleeehhh. It will probably come back as normal as usual. I wonder why it takes three weeks for the results to be tabulated? I was lucky enough that my tests were administered by a doctor (Psy.D.) who is working on his fellowship in Neuropsychology. Not that I think the psychometrist isn't qualified, it is just this guy has a wife who is a speech therapist and I was having vocal chord problems yesterday and he made note of it. It is just one more symptom in my long list but slowly but surely, these things are manifesting themselves in front of medical/psychiatric professionals and they can see that these things are real. I thank God that Dr. was testing yesterday - what are the chances that his wife would be a speech therapist and he would recognize that the vocal chords were not coming all the way together (my speech sounds very breathy). I call this my "I've been drinking whiskey in the morning" voice. All you southerners out there will know what I mean. I thank all of you for sticking in there for me. I know that I have not been my usual upbeat self but ever since I came back from Duke without a diagnosis, I have really been struggling emotionally. I was feeling pretty damn good when I went except for my face drooping so there was really nothing for him to see. So maybe there is hope for me yet - whaddya think? I will say a prayer for all of you today and I thank you again for being my friends. I don't know what I would do without all of you. Your friend. Terri G.
