Guest guest
Sheldon's been in the hospital with a virus since Monday. As of today he is fever free. Our problem is that he will not drink. He doesn't look like he has a sore throat. He's been off the IV all morning. He just refuses to drink. We've tried popsicles, jello, frozen ice, everything we can think of. He just pushes everything away and we have to restrain him just to get him to try to eat or drink anything. I've put some juice into a medicine dropper and tried that but he seems to dislike it just as much as the medicine. We did just get a little food in him, he ate most of a kiwi and a few bites of pancake. We started him on B1 and upped his carnitine, and he's been receiving intralipids by IV for the past 3 nights. He still seems very tired, especially in the morning - last night he had a lot more energy but still only ate and drank very little. Any idea why he would not be drinking? What can we do? We want to go home but can't as long as he won't drink. (Sheldon's 2 w/PDH deficiency) Thanks, Stacey
