BRAVO!!!!! What a wonderful and much needed post!!!! It was 's

posts (and 's) that got me to try enzymes. I started reading

about enzymes with skepticism but decided it was worth a try. I

hoped to help my daughter improve, of course but ultimately I hoped

to be able to take her off the gfcf diet which we all hated-I realize

it has benefits, other people like it, etc but for our family-we

hated it. My daughter was developing new food sensitivites all the

time and frankly, telling her there was yet something else she

couldn't eat was not something I was willing to do. Reading 's

stories of how enzymes helped both her children as well as herself;

And 's Applebee's story :-) pushed me to try it. My story is

in the files but I am going to say again here that my daughter has

improved in ways too many to count and we left the gfcf diet in the

dust. My daughter does not need the supplements she previously

needed (TMG and SNT)-although we are presently trying MSM and

planning to try Brainchild when it arrives. Her language improves

all the time (She is definitely quite verbal now) she has gained

weight, is very healthy, happy, successful in school(the girl reads

everything she can get her hands on) and just generally so much

better off than pre enzymes. My husband and I are eternally greatful

for , , Devin and everyone on this board that have helped

us. I want to make it very,very clear that Houston enzymes are the

only ones that have helped my daughter. I also want to thank Devin

for being so available and for his blazing fast shipping!!! I often

have a fried brain and even if I wait til the last minute to reorder

I can count on those enzymes being on my doorstep toot sweet. I did

receive an email-not anything threatening-but pushing another brand

as being as effective as Devin's-I was asked not to post this email

here- but I will say that we tried another brand before Devin's and

it did not help my daughter at all. Houston enzymes are the only

ones that have helped my daughter and therefore the only ones I will

ever recommend. Thanks again to everyone here.

I really appreciate the latest positive sentiments on my behalf.

Stressful times can bring out the very worst in people as well as

the very, very best. And the " enzyme option " has certainly brought

out some incredible ugliness, but also some stunning brilliance of

character. I think this is the meaning of plants growing together in

the easier times of summer, and then the time for the harvest comes

and the weedy chaft is separated from the good grain. Interesting

how everything can relate to agricultural science, .

There has been an abundance of background activities which I have

been fielding off-board as I thought was appropriate. It is a very

small, but vocal and influential minority who is so negative (IMO).

And I hope that the silent majority will not be dissuaded because of

it; or be dissuaded in following a course of action that would help

yourself or your family. People do not have to agree, but I believe

facts, science, accuracy and truthfulness is what is needed, and

then allow each person evaluate for their own situation.

Over the course of many months, I have been threatened and harassed

on behalf of myself, my family, and even others. It is the technical

validity and facts that have brought this on as well as the sheer

success of people getting better with enzymes, particularly Houston

enzymes and off special diets.

- I have been told that as listowner I need to endorse certain

things and policies in this group or else I will personally pay for

it.

- I have been told to do something about many of the AS members of

this group or else I will personally suffer for it (that's right,

somehow I am suppose to go out and control the adults on the

spectrum like they are less valid than anyone else - I simply do not

understand this way of thinking)

- I have been let know that certain people feel they are entitled to

more money than they feel they have and I will personally pay for it

(some of this appears to be due to enzymes and people getting better

and therefore not needing as much support and care; and some is due

to many actions by others over which I have absolutely no control -

but an individual parent is a small and easy target for larger

organizations to roll over)

- others wanting simple freedom of speech and enzyme therapy have

been threatened

- and now the well-being and even safety of my children and family

is at stake. I have looked into each of these threats, and based on

pattern and practice and experience of reliable sources, I must take

it seriously. As a parent, my primary responsibility, as always, is

to two little boys.

Now, I am not a driven control freak and this is why this group is

so miminally moderated. I feel others are just as entitled to their

opinion as I am to mine. I am a science/tecnical person basically

and my focus has been on getting the science right or facts found

for truthfulness. I tend to always go through proper channels and

honestly. You will note that although all those making accusations

against me and other individuals have to this day to prove one thing

of their accusations, yet they continue with little care for an

individual parent. I have documented, referenced, sourced, and even

corrected when necessary, my views and comments to the best of my

ability. However, this is now deeply into hard-core politics and has

little to do, if anything, with truthfulness, forwarding science or

options for parents, individuals, and children in need. I have been

personally told that directly from several sources.

Since the recent " politics " have essentially come to the point where

the facts as concerns the enzyme issue are available, now anyone can

decide what they want to believe or not. I think it would be best to

say that if someone is interested in ARI/DAN/GFCFDIET groups and

affiliates, then by all means, go and benefit from whatever resource

you can! There has never been any intention to detract from whatever

usefulness there is available from any source. So that is one

protocol and one diet and one way of doing things.

And if you choose to look at other sources and other therapies, then

by all means visit this group or some of the many, many other groups

or look at other protocols. Each of us is different. This way

each 'group' can go about their own business and pursue the area of

their own choosing. I have proposed numerous solutions and

cooperative efforts many times before and each time the hand of

friendship was extended it has been bit off. So here is the next

peacekeeping olive branch and we will see the type of response it

brings.

As usual, anyone is free to contact me and propose other ideas too.

If you feel something is technically or factually incorrect, I am

very happy to correct it. Thank you all for your kind regards, and

we will continue on with the practical application of enzyme therapy.

Hi group,

I just joined this group in mid-July and I had a lot of questions.

answered them all thoroughly and clearly and I will always be grateful

for the time she took to do that. I've learned more on this list than from

anyone in the last ten years, and because of that I was able to make informed

decisions for my son and not just blindly follow what I was told to do. I did

get some of the disparaging information you refer to -- which I examined and

chose to ignore. I don't know why people are motivated to behave this way,

especially since we parents are already so busy with serious and complex

issues.

So thank you for your hard work and your good heart.
