Guest guest
Grace always has crusties. I really don't know what it's from, but her GI said it's normal. Some people use gauze, we do not. The only time we ever use gauze is if she has good clothes on that I am worried about (even though it always washes off in the laundry). Her GI said the air is better than putting something over it. We also notice a lot more irritation when we do use the gauze. We just give her a bath everyday and clean it off. It also gets better over time, she had her big tube put in Dec. and was changed to a Mic Key button in Feb. It may look yuckie but it does not seem to bother her at all. Best of luck. Guest guest
Anne, I always keeep a piece of gauze around Chelsea's tube, her stoma gets irritated and red if I don't. The gauze soaks up the small amount of leakage that must irritate her skin. Her site is 4 yrs old and looks great. e, Chelsea's mom(nonspecific mito)
