Guest guest
Hi everyone! Just wanted to say that finally after six months of fighting for the biopsy, we were approved today to see Dr. Shoffner. We have the consult on Thursday (Apr. 8th) and biopsy on the 9th. Is anyone else going to be there on those days? I would love to meet you, if you are. I suppose we will be staying at the RMH. Since we only live 2 hours away, we will arrive on Thrusday morning and leave as soon as we can on Friday! (I know my husband will be ready to come home) I already have a whole page of questions I can not wait to ask. I have been writing them down everytime I think of one (most of the time it is while reading the posts). Thanks for reading my excitment!!!! Sharon, mom to Hailey (2 1/2), suspected mito BTW-the posts on medical records came in very helpful-I requested Hailey's peds records to take with me and to keep a copy for myself- her EI told me the peds suspected a problem at 8 months, but did not start the referrals until 15 months after I insisted-currently looking for new peds-thanks!! Guest guest
Sharon Just wanted to give you a heads=up so you can call and check on this, but I seem to remember that they were pretty strict about a couple things regarding your stay. You had to stay near the hospital (which you will b/c of RMH...we had friends in the burbs and they didn't want us that far away) and you couldn't leave the atlanta area until the day after the procedure, so you might wnat to check on that first, so you can tell your husband. deb...mom to three great adopted kids... Guest guest
Congrats on getting things covered and ready for Atlanta. I just spoke via e-mail with at Dr. S's and the last test to be run on my son's muscle/skin biopsy (done on January 16th) is to be run on April 8th (while you're there... wish you could pick up the results for me I thought the hospital staff, the RMH house, and Dr. Shoffner were superb. Everyone was very helpful, kind, knew what they were doing, and had my child's best interest at heart. Good Luck, Anne R
