Guest guest
, Don't quote me on this, but because there are so many different metabolic issues that go along with abnormal labs, a fresh muscle biopsy is how most of children on this list have gotten there diagnosis. Are you bringing to any specialists ... that would be your best bet on getting a good answer to your question. I wish you all the luck in the world! Guest guest
: Not to scare you, but DON'T wait another day. If your son has a temp w/ vomiting he needs to be seen. He "should" be treated as if he has Mito or an FOD until further tests say he does not have these. He should received IV D-10 while in the hospital. A child with mito or fod does not have to be dehydrated to need IV fluids. If you call your pedi today and get no where with the oncall pedi I would call Dr. Whitemans office and have the specialist on call paged. Also, during an illness like this is the time to run the labs. Good luck and please let us know what happens. Then we saw Dr. Whiteman at the Mayo but no official diagnosis yet. However, he is leaning towards a fat oxidation disorder. Now again, my son is ill- temp, lethargic, vomiting for unknown reason, etc. I am so concerned about him. Our pediatrician feels we should wait another day to see if he improves- if not, we will run the tests again and send them to the Mayo. Feeling lost and starving for info about my son. Does anyone know if you can have abnormal labs one time and not have a mito disorder? - son of (5) _________________________________________________________________ Check out the coupons and bargains on MSN Offers! http://shopping.msn.com/softcontent/softcontent.aspx?scmId=1418 Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
