Hi : I know it is probably different but I had Neuropathy because of nerve

damage from severe herniated disc. Accupunture really helped -- I could not

feel my toes or my left fingers. My insurance did not pay but I swear by

accupuncture./.

after a shower. The ONC told me it could take up to a year to go

away. It will get better. It just needs time. >>>

My last chemo was April 2004. I still have tingles but nothing like it was.

One really strange thing though:I have feeling in my toes....but cannot tell if

anything is hot or cold!! If I get into the bath I don't feel the temperature

until the water is up on the ball of my foot.

Thank goodness it wasn't my fingers!!

, I wish so much that the chemo would just do its thing to the

cancer cells and leave our nerve ending alone. Yes, it is good that

we do not have it in our fingers. I guess we can be thankful for

that. I hope it gets better with time. It's supposed too. Ingrid

I don't remember who asked about neuropathy. Neuropathy is abnormal sensations due to nerve damage. They can include numbness, tingling, burning, stabbing and more. Neuropathic pain refers to the painful sensations. You can have neuropathic pain anywhere in your body--like shingles, intercostal neuralgia (pain along ribs), trigeminal neuralgia from damage to the 5th cranial nerve, peripheral usually referring to extremities, feet most commonly, although my hands are starting to show symptoms. Here are a couple of websites. The first one, The American Chronic Pain Association, has an excellent section on neuropathic pain with a nice brochure you can download. On the Home Page, look for "It Takes Nerve."

http://www.theacpa.org/#

The other website is for The Neuropathy Association. I haven't had the chance to do more than scan the info.

Hope this helps whoever was inquiring!

I will give you a call tomorrow if that is ok. I would like to talk to

you about neuropathy. I am getting it a lot now. Is it ok to call

tomorrow?
