Guest guest
Tracie, The sun doesn't bother you? If I am in the light any length of time I get so sick and weak it isn't funny. It will put an end to whatever I'm doing real quick, and when I do come in out of it I can't stay awake. The more I read-- the more I'm convinced that diet will be the answer of the future. There are several really good books-- THE GERSON THERAPY DIET, ; THE SONOMA DIET; EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE and a slue of others. One of the things I read in a book called AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE-- was that the Vitamin D in sarcoidosis patients is more active--and so we store more D in organs that shouldn't store it.Another book on AI stated that high doses of Vitamin C in sarcoidosis patients activates the Vit D-- and that is why some people have problems with kidney stones and high calcium levels. As far as the sunlight issue-- just wear protective clothing and sunscreen-- but you need the sunlight in order to fight off the depression. So total avoidance is not healthy. Both books were in and Noble-- and both had titles to do with "living with autoimmune diseases"-- and naturally, only 2-3 pages of info on sarc. They both still listed prednisone as the main treatment-- and did not address the multi-system sarc patients needs.Even the new 2006 Merck manual still leans towards the 80% "leave it alone it'll go away" in 2-3 years.
