Thanks, . That could be what is happening. Do you think that acidophilus would still be necessary to take when I start the enzymes? --Vicky

Do you think that > acidophilus would still be necessary to take when I start the > enzymes? Probiotics and enzymes have completely different functions and so neither on replaces the other. The probiotics help establish the " good flora " in the gut. Enzymes can help keep the bad guys in check which helps the good guys, but if you would still need to supply some if there is any chance of any gastrointestinal problems. The good guy can generate a some proteases, lipases, and lactases but I haven't seen anything suggesting broad spectrum enzymes. Also, enzymes work in the stomach whereas most of the enzymes by the good flora are in the intestines. That is the way I understand it at least. So continuing to give at least some probiotics still sounds like a very good idea once you start enzymes. .

You can see regression for yeast issues/die off, but my son did not have a yeast issue, but I gave him probiotics anyway, because I had heard they were good " for everyone " . I must have tried 4-5 different probiotics, with enzymes and without enzymes, for three of my children, none of which had yeast issues, and all the probiotics caused them to have nasty reactions. So basically even if your child does not have a yeast issue, your child can still have a problem with probiotics. Dana
