I have been searching for a substitute besides honey, to use for Christmas cookies. My SIL recommended Splenda, so I asked around and here is a link I was given http://www.johnsonjohnson.com/innovations/in_splenda.html It indicates it is basically sugar which is not absorbable by the body. Therefore, because my children do not tolerate sugar, I will not be using it. My husband compared it to Olean/Olestra, the fat substitute, and he is very much against that substitute, plus it does cause digestive issues in some people. I don't know if my husband's comparison is right, but we cannot use it anyway, because it is basically cane sugar, which my children do not tolerate. I am trying fructose now, in case you are interested in that piece of trivia LOL Dana
