Guest guest
Darla, If I was in your shoes, given your family history, I would check into it. Maybe ask Dr. Whiteman next time you see him. Hope all remains well with Asenath and you all enjoy a wonderful Christmas holiday! Kim - Mom to and Lindsey (2) Partial Complex I tingling/numb face-Questions I was wondering if any of you have ever experienced or if your children have ever experienced a tingling sensation and then a numbness of the face and down one side of the body? I usually get this when I am tired and it has been a sign that I need to get more rest or else I will have a bad episode coming. Now I am concerned because my oldest (15 yrs. old) said that it has been happening to him for quite a while but thought it was normal to have that as it has been several years that he has dealt with it. Is this a neurological issue or is this a "common" thing anybody can have happen to them. Is this a mito/neurological issue? I just want to get different opinions on this. I am not really too worried about Luke. He is overall very energetic and healthy. The only weird things I have seen with him have been sensory issues to do with lack of feelings in his extremities at times, lack of temperature ch! anges felt in his extremities, this numbness/tingling issue... I know that any of my kids can develop issues as they get older as I didn't get bad until I was 20 yrs. old with only mild issues as a child. It just really surprised me when he told me he had the same tingling/numbness I deal with when I start having problems because he hasn't ever mentioned it before. It makes me wonder what else he is dealing with that he hasn't shared with me. Any advice is welcome. Darla: mommy to AsenathPlease contact mito-owner with any problems or questions. Guest guest
Darla, No great insights from me but I just had to comment as I've had some strange numbness lately. It's a new thing with me, but I am quite run down from a nasty bout with the influenza bug. At first I thought that my neck must have been " out of whack " from laying in bed but that isn't it, as the numbness has dissipated greatly but not gone away entirely. Your comment about yours being related to being run down, sure resonated with me and that was what I was attributing my fuzzy fingers to also. Ada & I are not perking up the way one would hope from the flu. Both of us have really been out of commission since the 6th of December. I am so bummed about it too. I had so hoped for Ada to have a good winter-meaning not ill for ever like last year and it just doesn't seemed meant to be.I fear I need to confront some of those dark fears again. Dang! Still not sure how I will proceed...., Red on the other had, never did get the flu (he takes after his father in the health department) and we still are watching for chickenpox. Could it be that he will take a miss on them also?! As for your young Luke, I too would wonder about what else he has not shared. Seems kids are real good about getting use to the way certain things are/or feel, and reach a point where they don't even realize that it's not normal. I think I would try some exploratory conversations-in a relaxed fashion- as I'm sure being the young man in the family he wouldn't want to burden you in any way. I would quess that he feels that you have your hands more than full with worry for the new babe and Asenath. So as mentioned, I've been laid up a bit and of course have not finished my holiday shopping. Oh well! I had planned on sending you something for the holidays, looks like it will be more like a new years something or other. Take care of yourself dear Darla. Rest, and enjoy your very bountiful family. I am sure with all those kids there is joy to spare in your house hold. Savor your moments with sweet Asenath & give her a hug from me. Blessings, Lee Mom to Red, Ada & Angel Lily ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
