Wow! This sounds just like Asenath. She never had a formed BM until just a couple months ago when we put her on steroids. Even the G-tube didn't make a difference for her. It was the strangest thing to see her always have diarrhea and mushy BM's for the first three and a half years of her life. I hadn't considered allergies that allergies could be the cause and NO doctors ever suggested what the problem could be. I talked to multiple doctors about the issue and no-one took it seriously. And why the steroids have helped I don't know other than she eats a little more by mouth since being on it. What specific things is Molly allergic to and what tests did you run to find out? I do have a son who did allergy testing at an allergist and takes the bi-weekly shots and meds to help him because he has had asthma, stuffed up nose constantly, and his eyes always were bruised and swollen from his rubbing. We found out he has some types of food allergies but he is 15 and we only realized recently from the doctor about them. Darla: mommy to Asenath Re: Food sensitivities??? Mito related??? Darla, Molly has never in 2 1/2 yrs. had a normal bowel movement. Always mushy. The thing that I suspected the most was vit deficiencies because when I started her on pediasure to make sure she was getting proper nutrition, her bms became more formed, though very dark and thick. Gross huh? It was just a blood test they ran, pretty easy. Now the thing for me is to find out what came first, the sensitivity, or is this mito related. Every mito doc has a different opinion on this...on everything it seems. DawnPlease contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.

Darla,

Molly was tested for food allergans. It was just a simple blood

test. They tested for soy, peanut, wheat, whey, casein. The diet is

very difficult. I am trying to feed the same things except

she can't do without her milk so that I am letting slide. With

everything we have tested her for, this is one we haven't. Should

we? Who know's. actually likes the food better than Molly,

though Molly is realy liking the soy and rice milk now. She is

basically living on snacks. They make good snacks, but actual food

that doesn't have all of this in it is very difficult.I am still

researching info so I don't know much yet, but anything else I can

help with let me know!

Dawn
