Guest guest
Connie, you should know that most nurses have stomachs of iron. I worked at a freestanding birth center in Texas; part of a migrant health clinic. We had a freezer to hold the placentas until we could take them across the street to the hospital, where they were incinerated. Yep, you guessed it, we kept ice cream in the freezer. One hot summer day the state health inspectors were coming. We had quite a few placentas because the hospital incinerator had been broken. The director of the birth center put the placentas in her car because we weren't supposed to keep them there; we were supposed to take each placenta to the hospital right after the birth. It was funny to see her taking these inspectors around with a fixed grin on her face, wondering if those placentas were thawing! It turned out okay, although she had to talk fast to explain why we had such a large freezer, just to keep our personal ice cream in. Oh, those were the days. Dang, I miss it. He had the state purchase plain gallon paint cans with no label. He would put the heads in these and that way no one saw what was going to the lab. We thank goodness had (2) refrigerators, one for humans one for the creepy stuff. (He did get to test the squirrel, he caught it after Eartha alerted him with screams that would make an opera star drool) Grief, If they put their lunch in with the GC, why did the dog bother them.......YUCK.
