I know this isn't much help but we are having the same problem.

Sheldon hasn't been eating much recently and since he was sick

recently he's lost a pound and a half. He also has his therapies in

the morning and always takes a long time to wake up, he has the most

energy in the evening. He eats very little in the morning, I don't

know if he's too tired to eat or why he doesn't eat in the morning. I

think we need to try high fat foods but since he's been vomiting we're

avoiding foods like that until his stomach is more ready for them. I

never know what to feed him.

We are having a really hard time with

getting to eat lately.

And his energy level is really suffering from it. He has lost

about

2 1/2 pounds in a month, I know that is not much, yet it sure is

not

normal. Most of his therapies are in the morning, and he is just

too

tired to get anything out of it.

He will be going to Kindergarden next year, so I am really

worried.

Are there certain foods that are considered to be energy foods?

Is there certain foods that have helped you?

Any help would be great!

I't is so weird to see all of the little ones do the same things Colby did when he was little. Boy, do I wish I would of had a support group to talk to then. Colby, started gaining weight when he was about 7 yrs old, but he didn't stop. He didn't ever grow in length, so his growth is severely stunted and he has a stomach that looks like he is 9 mo pregnant. His thyroid doesn't work at all so he will be on meds, for that, forever. When he was little, he threw up all the time and was so tiny. The idiot E.R. Dr.'s always put failure to thrive, then they would look at me and say well your not very big maybe he just takes after you. SCREAM! Anyway, he always used to get sick on weekends and still does. He still throws up alot, but is just to big in the tummy. Sorry!

Colby is nearly 14 now, but he used to be very tiny. We used to add all kinds of things to his food and formula. There was some kind of sugary powder we used, but I cannot remember what it was. He did start growing in weight not in length, so now he looks like those little old men that have to wear suspenders to keep their pants up! It never ends! Good Luck and ask your doctor if you can speak to a dietician, we worked quite closely with one years ago.

Hi,

I don't know about high energy foods, I can only say that we've had the same problem with Asher (still undiagnosed, though) and he just got a g-tube last week. I've already seen an improvement in his energy with the g-tube and night feedings. Plus, when he won't eat or drink during the day, I can supplement with Pediasure. He's on Alimentum at night.
