My first thought, also was the scarlet fever. It probably is not a reaction to the Aug. if she had it before taking it. But, did she have anything when they did the endoscopy, usually not. My oldest daughter broke out from her allergy to PCN a week after finishing the treatment. Her doctor said it is unusual, but sometimes your allergy can start while it is still in the bloodstream. Just a thought!

My daughter had gotten a VERY similar rash. We took her to the doctor and

they said it was viral. Then, she kept swelling and we took her to another

doctor. It turned out to be a 's Syndrome reaction to a

change in medication. The pharmacy had gotten a different brand and used

it. The doctor originally said it was viral because none of her meds had

been changed in years. Well, the new " Brand " had a different binding

ingredient that my daughter was severely allergic too. Be careful with the

rash because in the event it would be an allergic reaction, 's

Syndrome can be quite dangerous. There is a web site about it with

pictures, etc but I do not have it at the moment. Just thought I would

mention it just in case it is an allergic reaction to the amox.

I know from experience that rashes can cause pretty nasty inflammation ( I have eczema). When my hands or feet are broken out, they get very puffy and the skin cracks easily because it is so stressed. I am not sure what 's rash is from, but aks her ped if it is ok to give ibuprofin for the inflammation, or if Benedryl would be a better choice. Hope she feels better soon!
