Guest guest
has little or no reflexes. They told us that the reflexes were lost during one of the times he had a chemical imbalance and would never come back. It was one of the things that prompted his primary care to send him on to the specialists. ( will try to help the doctors if they hit him with the hammer as he knows they want to have reflexes. It makes him laugh but they don't like the help.) Don't know if it makes them more prone to injury as they can't draw back as quickly. Guest guest
What about if reflexes change over time? My son used to have very good reflexes. Doctors never had to search for the right spot to hit, his legs just bounced up, and bounced good. When I look in his records from Feb and May '03, they say his reflexes are " +1 " and " +2 " . But then the neuro-opthamologist, last month, said his " deep tendon reflexes are somewhat depressed " . Is that the same thing? What really caught my attention was when his ped neuro checked his reflexes a week or so later, and he had to try 4 times to get any reflex at all from his knees, and then his legs barely moved. The neuro said that was in the range of normal - as long as you get anything at all within 4 tries, then it's considered normal. But I'm wondering if it's normal to go from strong reflexes that anyone can get easily, to having to search for them and then they are so much lighter. Am I just wondering about too many things now, or is this something I should bring up with his doctors? Lynne
