When we went to Disney a few years ago we got a pass so we didnt have to stand online and so that we could go in thru the wheelchair entrance. When you first enter the Magic Kingdom, there is a Guest Services building and that is where we got our pass. I would also say if you can, bring a doctors note. My daughter had very low muscle tone and could not stand for long periods of time, but didnt need a wheelchair. I brought the doctors note in case they questioned me, which they did, so the note would be helpful.Your daughter is in a wheelchair so I cant imagine they would question you. You might not even need the pass, but I would ask to make sure. I am not sure about the viewing if the fireworks. You can see them pretty much from wherever you are. I would call and ask. If you have a problem getting answers, send a message, and I will call my friend who works for Disney and try to find out for you. Jill, Matts mom, scad

Edson,

I live about 45 minutes from Orlando, FL and go to the theme parks fairly often. I have mito too and use a scooter to go around the park. I would never be able to do it without the scooter. All of the parks around here are handicapped friendly. When you go to the park, you can go to guest relations at the opening gates. Tell them your situation and they will give you a pass for your family to bypass the lines. Each park handles it differently at the individual rides but they are almost all accessible. They also rent out scooters and wheelchairs at the parks. I don't know how expensive they are because I own my own. I know Disney has a website with a section for disabled guests. I would contact them in advance and tell them about your situation. They are very accomodating. Universal Studios and Sea World are also great as is Busch Gardens in Tampa. I went to the fireworks at Universal Studios for 4th of July. They were amazing and free except for parking. It gets very crowded but is very accessible. I don't know what the plans are for New Years Eve but I'm sure its on all the websites. I would suggest getting there early to get a place and be set by the time the fireworks start.

As for which park to visit, to get the real magic of Disney, I would go to the Magic Kingdom. Epcot is also nice but is more educational. MGM is good if you like the movies. Universal Studios is fun and is also based on movies. Islands of Adventure is alot of fun and very cartoonish. We have been there alot. Sea World of course is related to marine life. You can play with sting rays and dolphins and feed the seals. It depends what your family and your daughter like. I think all the parks have a medical center where you can get first aid or rest if your daughter gets tired. I have used it before and they are very nice. Again contact the parks before you go and find out how they can help you. There are also alot of places outside the parks to go. Olde Town is in Kissimee. It has a line of nice shops and car shows and music on the weekends. If you have a car, take a ride through Celebration. It is a city owned by Disney and is beautiful. Aound Christmas time they have festivals around Main St and somehow make it snow.

If you want more suggestions let me know. I know good restarants, etc in the area. I have always wanted to go to Brazil. My dad is a race car driver and has had alot of Brazilian co-drivers over the years. I hope this helps.

PS Do you know about Give Kids the World? I have never been there but many on the site have. You might want to check into that.

Dear ,

Thanks for your Email.

We will go to Orlando. It will not be a "wish trip" (we do not have this here in Brazil). Where I can get info about this button for our case who will go by ourselves. I saw disney's wesite and it is mentioned that in some attraction we will need to wait in the normal lines (we can not bypass normal lines).

Thanks.

Dont know if you are going to Disneyland in Calif. or Disneyworld in Florida but we went last Christmas for our daughters Make A Wish trip to Florida. We stayed at Give Kids The World Villiage and got a big button to wear so our hole family got on everything without a wait. They even gave us lots of free things when they saw the GKTW pin. Some other kids we saw had Mke A Wish T-shirts and they got to go first. Dont know how Disneyland works but I am sure they have the same kinda thing in place. I know there is alot of info on the website. I went there and got familiar with all that was listed under the disability section that really helped.

Are you are going to Florida? Is it a wish trip? If so please let me know I have alot of info for you that you might not know about.

Blessings,

Loriann,

Tell Lucas congratulations!!! I am so excited for ya'll.

's wish was granted through Make A Wish in 2000. I have

never heard of the Sunshine Foundation or the Sunshine Village so I

am no help there. We stayed at Give Kids the World Village which was

amazing. While we were on that trip 's daddy said that

we would come back to Disney World at least once a year. This year we

made 7 trips. If you have any questions or I can help in any way

please email me. mommie2angels (AT) mindspring (DOT) Have a wonderful time!!!

Edson,

>I want to receive info from you who live in USA about the lines in the

>attractions. Do we need to stay in the normal queues or can we " baypass

>waiting

>lines " ? What do I have to do?

Disney used to let people in wheelchairs bypass the lines, but they now

want you to use the regular lines for most rides. However, you can go to

Guest Services just inside any of the Disney parks and ask for a Guest

Assistance Pass (no charge), which is a paper you can show to the

operators at the rides. To get the pass, explain that your child has a

serious illness and tires easily--ask specifically for the pass which

will allow your family to use the Fastpass line without a Fastpass. This

will make your wait shorter at rides. If they hesitate, explain that

your child will not be able to go on very many rides without this pass

because she will get tired quickly and may become sick. Once you have

the pass, you can show it to " Cast Members " at the rides and use the

Fastpass line, which is usually much shorter than the regular line. You

can use the pass in all four of the Disney parks at Disney World.

EPCOT has several sections reserved for people in wheelchairs to see the

fireworks. The best one we've found is close to the entrance to the

World Showcase. Your whole family can watch from this area. Arrive

early at the area, since it holds a limited number of people.

I hope you have a wonderful time!
