Guest guest
Abnormal reflexes indicate either a brain based cause or a muscle based cause depending on whether they are increased or absent (or "trace). Increased reflexes indicate upper motor neuron, so a brain based cause for them (why so many with CP have increased/exagerrated reflexes), and decreased or absent reflexes indicate lower motor neuron, so a muscle based cause. Hey Kass, Just wanted to thank you for the info. Chelsea has always been said to have "brisk" reflexes, which I assume means increased. It was just never explained that meant her problem was CNS based instead of muscular. ( as we were told right from the beginning). e, Chelsea's mom(nonspecific mito)
