Dr. Boles is the Director of Clinical Genetics, ChildrensHospital, Los Angeles. He received his medical degree fromUniversity of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He completed hisinternship and residency in pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA MedicalCenter and a fellowship in genetics at Yale University School ofMedicine. Dr. Boles is presently organizing a mitochondrialdisease clinic at Childrens Hospital. Since Nov. 1993, he hasbeen Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Keck School ofMedicine of the University of Southern California. His majorareas of research are disorders of mitochondrial DNA; presentresearch focuses on screening of the entire mitochondrial genomefor mutations in individuals with various phenotypes andmutations of the mtDNA control region and associated disease.
