Guest guest
I went off the Effexor like a month before the healing without any problem. Marla, I have a feeling that the change in your moods is from the Effexor being out of your system. With antidepressants, they seem to have a long term effect if we've finally gotten them working for us. It could also be that the upset of brain chemicals (your seratonin level) is messed up so that would keep you from sleeping. The lack of sleep is making you more emotional--so you've set up a cycle. What I've discovered is that it takes a whole circular approach to our health. What I mean is that we don't get to address just the lung stuff, or the brain stuff--we have to address our whole body/mind stuff as a complete package. If any component of that package is disrupted, it sets off other parts of our bodies in reaction to the changes. Hormones at 48 (we're the same age until the end of this month btw) the meds we're on can and do often cause crazy menstral and hormonal cycles- so yeah, it can be perimenopause. I have a feeling tho that it's that the effects that the Effexor was controlling for you has worn off, and now your system is in flux. Hope this made sense, Tracie

Guest guest
Marla I am having some of the problems you are with crying. I also am wondering if you have ever gone for a sleep apnea or narcolepsy study recently or in the last two to three years. If you have not had a sleep study, you should have one done. Sharon L. Guest guest
Marla I was about your age when I went through the change.I had terrible mood swings & night sweats too. This was when I started getting the NS symptoms also. I was living with my ex boyfriend & things weren't going very good either. I was just starting the Neurontin but they my problems were because I got meningitis when they put the shunt in my brain. When I felt the rage welling up in me & I knew I was going to let him have it I went to the basement & got on my exercise bike til he fell asleep. I didn't take any kind of prescribed or over the counter medicine. It finally stopped & the NS symptoms took over. LOL Out of the frying pan & INTO THE FIRE! grannylunatic@... __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Yes Sharon I had one I'm thinking about 2 years ago, when I was sicker then I am now. I had some sleep apnea, but the doctor told me that the Cpap(?) would bother me more then it would help me, as I can't stand to have anything on my face. And that was 15 pounds of pred then too. Over all, my sleep is not too bad, compared to before, I think I've finally caught up. Thanks Sharon, hugs and blessings, Marla Marla I am having some of the problems you are with crying.
