Guest guest
I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time after 's surgery. Poor baby. He should not be in so much pain. But I can relate. Liquid Tylenol used to make Max hyper. He would have a high fever and I'd take him to the doctor, telling her how sick he was, but she had a hard time believing me because he was all over the place. That aside, have you checked with the doctor to see if you can give him the stronger pain meds, but include Benadryl along with them? The Benadryl will make him sleepy and help calm him down. Also, if you decide to keep him on just Tylenol, make sure you give him the next dose before it wears off - like every three hours instead of every four. By the time the old dose wears off, the new dose will kick in and he will not feel the terrible pain he feels now. Good luck. I hope some of this helps. By the way, it is okay to give Benadryl along with Tylenol. If nothing else, it will help him sleep through the night. Jodi
Guest guest
Hi. When my son was small, he could not deal with any med with red dye in it! It would send him off the walls, no matter how poorly he was feeling. Could you get 's pain med in pill form, and hide it in yogurt, applesauce, pudding? I had to get my son on pills by age 2 and 1/2, because of the dye problem. I just made sure to crush the pill between 2 spoons, and make sure that it was in the middle of the semi-solid I was trying to give him. Example: put a little pudding on the spoon, make a lake (indent) in the center, pour in the pulverized pill (or open the capsule), cover with pudding, and stuff it in their mouth! Worked like a charm! Pat (g-ma to , RSS, 13 months, 11# 8oz, 24.75 " , GT)

Guest guest
Hi! I am so sorry to hear about 's pain. I hope I can offer some advice. My son, Jake has had three hypospadius surgeries. Here is what was done for pain management: Every three hours we alternated between motrin and tylenol. Also, he was on Ditropan (I think every 6 hours) for as long as he had a catheter to stop spasms caused by the catheter. He was also on an antiobiotic to prevent any infections. I didn't see you mention the Ditropan for , perhaps this is causing his pain. Also, another thing I learned the second time around was to have the the doctor do a " block " and this helped alleviate a lot of his pain when he first came out of surgery the second and third time. It was like night and day. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have other questions. Alison > Hi everyone, were back Sorry I have'ntbeen on-line in a while. Guest guest
Hope all goes well with the surgery. We will send prayers and positive thoughts your way. Wyatt had his tube put in last week. I want to thank you so much for all of your support and wisdom. It was my discussions with you that convinced me to do the tube. I now get what everyone was saying. IT IS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!! We could not be any happier. It is so easy to do meds. Wyatt is really happy about not having to swallow all of those pills. Plus being able to get all those extra fluids in him. Again, IT IS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all of your support.
