What are wheatie balls? And worms aren't so bad. When

I use to go

fishing I would take bologna sandwiches with me. No

mayo or mustard.

So I got tired of eating them dry. Then I would take

the slime off the

worms that was stuck on my fingers and rub it on my

bologna to keep the

sandwich from being so dry. Man! What a protein boost

that was! I

would perk right up and fish for hours after that. No

Connie,

When I lived in CA there was a couple at my church who made their own

root beer. They would make it for youth group functions and we could

not get enough. I got so used to it that it took me a long time to

drink any other root beer. Now cream soda, that is another story.

Shasta Cream Soda. Can't get it here so I drink Barq's. They sell the

red cream soda here.

Connie,

I come from a family of raw meat eaters. It was nothing for my Dad,

sister or brother to take a little raw hamburger or sausage, roll it in

a ball, put salt and pepper on it and pop it in their mouth. My dad

also ate most beef almost totally raw. He always instructed the cook to

put it in the pan and when you hear it sizzle, turn it over. When you

hear it sizzle, turn it over. When you hear the last sizzle, take it

out and put it on the plate. He also was hospitalized for trichinosis.

Terri,

I can only imagine how good homemade rootbeer was.

When I was young and we would go to Waycross to see my

dad's relatives we would stop at the A&W Rootbeer

Place and get a gallon of rootbeer & order some to

drink right then in frosted mugs. Good grief it was

good.

I am also a creme soda lover. Believe it or not the

Winn Dixie Brand Chek creme soda is inexpensive and

taste great. There is one brand that comes in a

bottle that is out of this world, but right now I

can't remember the name.

I'm drinking pepsi and I type////Take Care, Connie

Terri, I lived with the complete opposite of that, to

this day my mother will cook the holy mustard out of

any meat. When I cook meat for both of us I kill hers

and cook my normal. I've seen her cook bacon to her

likin.. which means the bacon will turn whitish from

being so overcooked. But hey that's the way she likes

it.

I'm a meat freak, but I want it done. I don't eat

anything that I feel still has the capability to moo,

cackle, oink, or blow fishy bubbles.

Makes me wonder if there was a little more "beer" than "root" in that homemade brew.

I don't if there are Meijer's stores anywhere else, but I love their cream soda.

Terri,I can only imagine how good homemade rootbeer was. When I was young and we would go to Waycross to see mydad's relatives we would stop at the A & W RootbeerPlace and get a gallon of rootbeer & order some todrink right then in frosted mugs. Good grief it wasgood.I am also a creme soda lover. Believe it or not theWinn Dixie Brand Chek creme soda is inexpensive andtaste great. There is one brand that comes in abottle that is out of this world, but right now Ican't remember the name.I'm drinking pepsi and I type////Take Care, Connie--- mosaicgirl1 <mosaicgirl1 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> wrote:> > Connie,> > When I lived in CA there was a couple at my church> who made their own> root beer. Connie,

That is sooo funny about your Mom. The meat has got to be terribly dry.

You know it is funny, since I have been on Weight Watchers, my taste for

meat is just about gone. I cannot stand that heavy feeling it has been

giving me. I would rather have fruits and veggies. I have been making

up my protein with beans and peanut butter but when I see the PCP next,

I am going to ask for some blood work to see if I am making up for the

lack of meat. I do occasionally eat a little seafood (broiled or baked)

or a little baked chicken, but right now it is such a turn off. Yuck.

Well, I am going to go rest. My son gets married on Saturday and I

really want to feel my best. Take care.

Rose,

I wish there was more beer than root. I could use a little bit of that

right now.

How have you been? I will try to call soon. Lot's going on with my son

getting married and getting ready to go to Charlotte. Take care of

yourself.
