Welcome Connie,

We are all in the same boat, trying to get healthy, and

live a long wonderful life, so never be embarrased

about discussing your weight here. Everyone is so

helpful and all you questions will be answered. I'm

pre-op waiting for a date, so i can't answer your

question..................but I do know what they

are going to say/////////////////////////////////

I think 90% of this group are medical people (I'm

a nurse also). Welcome Connie, soon it will

feel like home.

Hi Judi---

Thank you for your response to my message. I'm learning a lot

already! Good luck with your surgery. Are you going to have it

locally in Florida, or are you going to go NC with Dr. Rutledge?

Dear Connie,

My choice is a go with Dr R.. I really would not want

to have any other Dr do this surgery, unless it was a

flat out last resort. He is the best there is in

this area by far.....plus if you run into trouble

during surgery.......his backround is Trauma

Surgery. So far my Ins Co says its a go....

I'm waiting for them to relay that info to Dr R's

ofc and have Debbie call me with a surgery date.

On that date I'll will have figured I won the

Lotto.

Lotto.

Great info Judi. I didn't know Dr. R's background. I can understand

why you (and so many other people) want him to do your surgery.

Makes perfect sense to me! There is a local surgeon here in Dallas

that has done a lot of these surgeries as well, and I thought I would

just go to meet with him----to interview him and have some type of

comparrison. Dr. R certainly seems to be the leader in this field!

How long did it take for your insurance to give approval?

Good luck with that Lotto! I know you will hit the jackpot, and with

any luck, maybe I'll be able to follow suit! (too many gambling

analogies! LOL)
