Guest guest
Subject: To muscle biopsy or not to? Please help! Hi~we are in the process of deciding on the muscle biopsy. I would like to see some responses from anyone to the following questions.1. Did your child have normal blood/urine tests before the biopsy? We had some test results come back abnormal... but took a retake when was well... and they were normal. 2. Does your child have any abnormal eeg movements that cannot be explained? No abnormal eeg movements. 3. Should we repeat lab work at the time of an illness? had lab work come back strange during illness. She also had some come back strange when she was healthy too. 4. How many did the skin biopsy and what were the results? Were they different from others? had a skin Biopsy first but they were testing for Elhers Danlos, a connective tissue disorder. 5. How many of your kids have had bad reactions to anesthea? had the MB last month. She didn't have any reaction to the Anesthsia. She did, however, have trouble with the drink they make you drink before the Biopsy. She ended up having to have it injected in her leg. What were the reactions?Any replies would be helpful. We are trying to decide on what to do next. Thanks~Kim
Guest guest
Hi Kim My son Colby had abnormal urine studies, as well as abnormal eegs. He had a muscle biopsy in the deep thigh. There are certain anesthias that treat kids with muscle diseases. Colby has always done OK. Just let your heart lead in your decision making.
