Guest guest
A preventative sounds nice... We have definitely seen a lessoning of migraines since being on the Mito cocktail which includes B2, Carnitor, COQ10, and Liq. Vit. E for Asenath. She also takes Citra-3 for acidosis issues that has helped. But, her narrow arteries and metabolic imflamation (which probably causes most of her stroke episodes) cause migraines frequently. Compared to 2002 her migraines are mild except for when she has stroke episodes. We have been told that she probably has migraines most of the time and her pain tolerance is probably quite high from having them since infancy. I hate knowing this but have noticed her head rubbing even while she smiles and plays. I really wish I could have something more potent though for her bad days. Hope you are doing well. My hubby and I think of you often. Hope to see you again some day Darla: mommy to Asenath, Zipporrah, and the gang Re: Darla/Migraines, was Need help- growth issues This is confusing and frustrating Darla!!! Seems like even trying a migraine preventative would be worthwhile. Over here we have Chance on a combo of Ribolfavin and Magnesium Oxide that has been shown to be an effective migraine preventative and it seems to have helped with the visual aura's he was having. Since he was not having the actual headaches, just the aura's I didn't want to put him on another medication, so this was an alternative I could live with. Can only imagine the level of frustration over there with this!!! -- BIG hugs, Kass, proud mom to Chance(10-Mito), Madison(7-Mito), and Abby(6-Mito) Updates (http://www.caringbridge.org/tx/mitowhat/) "Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away" Unknown Darla Klein wrote: The migraine medication issue is a struggle for me. I can't understand why my docs want me to use only Tylenol or motrin for Asenath's horrible migraines, even the ones she has during strokes. I used to have Tylenol with Codeine and that helped her. The neurologist for some reason doesn't seem it is necessary or good to use anything more. DarlaPlease contact mito-owner with any problems or questions. Get more from the Web. Guest guest
Both of my sons suffered from migraines. My older son was put on Periactin. It has helped a lot. My younger son was put on Propranolol. Both have seen a decrease in migraines. They are also both on low doses. I would question your doctor telling you to use Tyelnol or Advil because of long term issues with taking too much. Good Luck, Marie > The migraine medication issue is a struggle for me.
