Guest guest
Welcome Lynn! I have BC of Ca and they are Wonderful!-- but I do have a PPO, not an HMO, and it is a pretty good plan -- the stuff covered varies by the kind of plan the company you work for buys -- so you get to deal with 1) the blue and what their company policy is, and 2) what your employer bought. Good Luck! Nan E. pro-op in CA
Guest guest
My Name is Lynn and I have been researching all ogf the different types of surgery and come to the conclusion that I think the ds is exactly what I am looking for. I have my first consult with Dr Booth this coming Tuesday and I am getting very anxious. Now that I have the appointment I have been trying to form a list of questions and am having a hard time. I have read sooo much information that I am not sure what to say. Can anyone tell me what to expect on this first visit and what if anything I need to bring with me? Also I have BCBS of Florida and Anthem BCBS of Ohio. Does anyone know anything about them and what I should expect from them? You people have been so much help to me with this desition. Thank you to all and know that my prayers are with all of you. Lynn G.
Guest guest
Lynn, I know you said you had BCBS of Florida and another one for Ohio. There are a lot of different policies. If you have a PPO you should be ok. I had BCBC of Michigan and it is a PPO and I went to NYC for my surgery. So far they have paid 100% of everything except my consult visit. The best advice anyone can give you is to read you policy. Check the section "EXCLUSIONS" very carefully. If you are a PPO and the surgeon you choose is under contract with BCBS then you will be set. I have a friend that has BCBS HMO and her surgeon (the surgeon same as mine) was not a contracted doctor with the HMO plan, so her surgery would have been paid for and the hospital bill but not the surgeons bill. Does this make sense? Good Luck!
