I haven't tried to get our primary to pay for mine yet, but I am gonna work on it! Dawn
Guest guest
I have been buying mega co Q from: http://www.enhancedlifesciences.com/ 60 capsules (2 month supply at our dosage) of 600mg a day (300-600 is recommended for mito) is like $127 but that's still way less expensive than the health store varieties which have a max strength of 50-200mg per cap. The Tishcon stuff looks way more expensive too but if it's Rx now then I'm hoping Medicaid can pay for it: It's $60 a month less I have to pay, considering I still have to buy the creatine monohydrate capsules and other things. If anyone here is on creatine, look into the Twinlab MegaCreatine caps. They are only slightly more expensive (online) than the powder but I've found the powder to be useless after it's opened: creatine monohydrate is extremely hydrophyllic (absorb water from the air) and is rendered pretty much inert within a couple of days after opening. May as well just give cornstarch or sand. Since the caps (which also contain powdered creatine so you can open them and mix in food if you need to) are air tight the chemical structure remains intact. I pay $21-$22 per bottle of 120 capsules 1200mg (1.2 grams each) which at six caps a day is a 20 day supply, so maybe $30 a month. I used to pay upwards of $40 a bottle in the local health food store: don't do it! Everyone is selling this stuff online way cheaper and they're always competeing with each other having "sales". We only do meds twice a day at our house. The creatine is 3 caps twice a day, coQ one cap once a day, etc. I divide it out so she gets 8 or 9 pills at breakfast and bedtime. Makes it easier on everyone and she doesn't have to take meds in school. Also doesn't add more stress to mealtimes. Life is stressful enough
