Guest guest
, that is weird. Are you on diabetic meds that maybe are just kicking in after you eat? Are these blood sugars from a home glucometer? If so, has it been checked, calibrated, etc? That just doesn't make sense. But then again, you have sarcoidosis which seems to turn things topsy-turvy. Has your family doctor considered a consult with an endocrinologist? If not, sounds like a good idea. I'm sorry that you have been so down. Roller coaster blood sugars can cause that too, so this really needs to be figured out. Hugs & positive thoughts coming your way. Guest guest
Hi - I'm so sorry that you are having such weird things happen. I have just started to think that everything that can go weird with us will go weird with us. That is so bizarre about the blood sugar test. You poor thing. I'd be just as frustrated - and I'm definitely concerned. The word "protein" keeps coming to mind, but I don't know why? I know my friend's daughter has diabetes and whenever something traumatic happens to her - even something as natural as losing a tooth! - it can really send her blood sugar out of whack. Maybe it's not so much what you're putting into your body as much as it may be what is going on around you when they're testing you... just a little food for thought. The lumps - how big are they? Are they all over? Did your doc mention the erythema nodosum possiblity? Mine were little and moveable, but they were all over my legs, but most prominent in my lower legs. At the time, I was on Weight Watchers and ate just about anything that had Nutrasweet in it. Someone said that the Nutrasweet could cause this, so I stopped taking anything in that contained it and like a miracle, they vanished! A few years later, when we moved to PA, I started the dieting craze again, and got them again. When I went off Nutrasweet products, they went away! The doctor(s) never agreed or disagreed that the Nutrasweet was the culprit, but I am telling you, I think that was a big part of the cause. I'm sure this dreary. rainy-cold autumnal-like weather isn't helping you feel any better. Let's hope for some sunshine, huh? I'll keep you in my prayers. Hang in there, ok? Guest guest
Terri, I am on prednisone and have been for a while. I started on 60 mg per day last May 05 and have finally gotten it weaned down to 10 mg per day. It has caused my sugar to be high to the point of using insulin, and the endocrinologist says I am diabetic only because of the prednisone. I have never had the type of reaction is describing for what it's worth. Conniemosaicgirl1 wrote: Rose,Could her blood sugar problems have to do with prednisone? areyou on prednisone?
