update from allison re: her

I found a computer at the hospital parent library. a has told you a bit of what is going on so I will go form there. The nephrologist said that they don't know what is happening. They are hoping it is temporary but of course with 's underlying disease it takes some figuring out. His kidney function is worse right now. His creatnine has jumped to 565 (20-60 is normal) He is needing to go on to peritoneal (sp?) dialysis today. We are awaiting an emergency slot in the OR to have the catheter placed and he will start dialysis tonight. Some blood woek is still outstanding that would help to determine if this is from strep or not. Strep would be the best case scenario. Worse is that it is a progression of 's disesae. The nephrologist had to ask us this morning what our wishes were. We told him still has a very good quality of life and you do EVERYTHING that needs to be done to preserve his kidneys. He totally agreed. On an up note. They are all in awe that is sitting up it bed watching TV in light of what his lab results are telling them. I will try and post again tonight. Alison
