How sad

Re: article I wrote on dying, grieving and spirituality...attn krysten...

I am sorry you didn't feel like you could write me earlier but I am glad you finally did. I have often thought of you and wondered how you were! I am glad to hear Colby is doing alright. Dont feel sad for me about , I am really happier that he is gone than watching him slip away daily, that truly was harder for me than him dying. His death was also not peaceful, not what I imagined...even though his spirit was so ready. I have made myself refuse to think about this and I hope you can find a way to control your mind and stop thinking of your fathers death. My dad died when I was 18, we weren't by his bed...his condition was improving and he was only 39, but his heart started throwing irregular rhythms and he died. There were a lot of regrets as my dad and I had never had the relationship that I always wanted, but I refuse to live in regret or guilt and have decided to focus on the good times we shared. I hope you can find a way to do this too.

While there is no right or wrong way to grieve, I hope you understand that it is okay to let go of the physical manifestions of his death. I know I have talked with other bereaved parents and we say we dont' want our grief taken away from us...our right to grieve, but I hope you will not let grief rule your life. I know one thing that helped us a lot...we had 's body cremated and so we don't have a place to really go and grieve, but we bought a tree at a memorial and we go to it. We tend it, nurture it and so on and that really helped! Maybe there is something you can do for your dad.

Our big news is we have decided to adopt again...we are looking for a black/biracial girl under two with medical problems, so thats the excitement in our parts! Gaige is finally getting the services he needs and Bliss is doing amazingly well...scoring above age in many areas!

would love an update from you!
