Hi Terri - I'm a little jealous - I love Joyce Meyers! I am sure you will have a wonderful time, and I am sure her message will help uplift you. :) I would love to be at one of her conferences some time. I can't wait to hear about it - if you want to share! I haven't had neuropsych testing yet, but I am experiencing those same issues with my thinking and memory. Stress can take its toll on us, and I know in stressful times, my symptoms are much worse. My friends tease me sometimes because I am the wordiest person they know... When I can't find the words, they all applaud! LOL! Anyway, I am so glad you found someone who knows about NS - that must be such a comfort! God is great - all things are possible with God - nothing is impossible with God - never forget that! I went for the results of my neuropsych testing yesterday and I am not sure if it is going to help me a lot. It depends on what the neurologist thinks. The tests showed declining speed in thought processing and some short term memory decline. I am not trying to make it sound better than it was it is just to lengthy to list. Because I live in a tough situation like , he thought that some of mine problems have an emotional component to them - well we all know what any kind of stress

will do to us and how it make us feel worse. I am going to mail out my report to all the different docs and see what they say. Just keep me in your thoughts as I plod along on this journey that hopefully will bring treatment for one diagnosis or the other. By the way, in Norfolk, if you ever require neuropsych testing, Dr. Stutts at EVMS is wonderful. He will give it too you straight, not sugar coated and he does not talk down to you. He is very knowledgeable about NS. (This is a first for me - I didn't know anyone in this area was knowledgable about this disease). Take care of yourselves. I will write later. Kim - don't forget to have those shingles double checked; you should be seeing some improvement. Love to all of you. Terri G.

Jeanne,

Joyce Meyers was so uplifting. It was wonderful to hear her preach in

person and she has the greatest praise and worship team. They really

got us moving. I watch her everyday that I am able and I take notes on

her sermons so I can go back and look up the scriptures and I helps me

so much.

You can go to joycemeyer.org and find out when she might be coming to

your area. Where are you located. You may have said in a previous post

but with my memory...... I go on the site once or twice a week and will

keep an eye out for you. Plus there are great books and different

things you can order. I just purchased " Starting Your Day Right " which

is a daily devotional and she has one for the end of your day if that is

more your style of studying called " Ending Your Day Right " .

Well, I am off to church today so gotta go. Hope everyone has a great

day. By the way Clair, you asked what biscuits are - they are different

from the biscuits you eat. Sorta like a scone but they are made with

flour, milk and butter. We make them round and bake them and they are

fluffy (if you make them right). We can also buy them premade in the

grocery store and just bake them. You can eat them plain, with butter

and jelly or jam or like our discussion, with sausage gravy (white milk

gravy with fried pork sausage in it). Well, gotta get ready.

I hope everyone has a good day and keep me in your thoughts and prayers;

I am going to confront my husband this afternoon about some stuff and I

am afraid he is going to tell me to hit the road (no health insurance

!!!). I have some where to go if this happens but I am very nervous. I

can't live like this anymore.

Thanks for being there. I love all of you for it.

Everything we went with our talk; but it remains to be see if he can

follow through.... This is the first time he did not get defensive. I

did start out praising him about this good things he does and then

brought up the things that are impossible to live with (his temper). He

is going to Christian counseling and I asked him to bring this up as a

point he need to address. He also knows that I will not continue to

live like this. My docs all say the emotional stresss he is placing on

me are making me sicker (we all know what stress does to you when you

are sick) so I prayed about how to tell him how I felt. I also told him

that if he does not make those changes I am not staying. We have stayed

together I think recently only because I am sick. That is a sad thing.

I want a life surrounded by people who love me and are not negative

24/7. It is time that I take charge of my own happiness and I have

prayed long and hard about this. I truly believe he is bi-polar as is

another member of his family and either he seeks treatment or I am done.

We have been married 12+ years and I would love to be married forever

but I cannot live with the verbal abuse. I have suffered some type of

abuse almost my entire life and the cycle must stop now. I am asking

God to give me the strenght to stick to my guns. I need to get rid of

the people in my life that steal my Joy. If we must continue our

journeys seperately then I just pray for strenght.

Well , I am sure you didn't expect all of that but it feels good to

say it and I know you really care. Take care of yourself and know you

are in my prayers.

When I had my neuro testings, they said: consistent findings with

NeuroSarc, or possible depression???

they always want to have a back up, nobody wants to say it this, they

always want to add in stress, depression, etc. I told my doctor at the

time, I wasn't depressed, been there, but she kept insisting it was,

even though I was already on an antidepressant, and going to

counseling.

Marla,

Been there done that. That is what I am told all the time. It is not

so much depression but stress which makes me feel worse.

Marla,

How is that for brain flatulation. You were responding to my email - Hee Hee.

Lynne, Terri & any other interested parties, my neuropsych test was normal, but I still won my disability case. I actually thought I did pretty bad on the test, but they said I did well. I went over it with the psychiatrist who had diagnosed me with adult ADD and she said (please don't take this as bragging) that because I am very intelligent, I realized I wasn't doing as well as I could have done in the past, but it was good enough for the testing agent. My point is, if your neurosarc testing is rated as normal, don't lose hope. I would kind of like to do it again, because I feel that a lot has worsened since I did the testing 2 years ago. But if the testing was still "normal" maybe SS would decide I wasn't disabled!

One of the ways I was ableto get my private disability to pay was the fact that I am unable tomulti-task per a neuropsych report. If you have not had the neuropsychtests and have problems with memory, multi-tasking etc....request tohave the test done. This may aid you in your quest. My doctor thoughtI had MS at first, told me I could continue to work, but when I calledhim stuttering and unable to remember anything, he back me up on notworking. So don't look at it as a physical thing only, we all know thatit can also be in your brain.Terri G.
