Guest guest
Donna,I took my daughter to a naturopathic doctor yesterday and he asked if I had any pets.I said yes and told him we had cats and dogs.He said my daghter probably got parasites from them.It is so gross to think about. We are very clean people and this is very disturbing to me.My dogs are potty trained and the cats use the litter box.I have friends who are on the board of an animal rescue league and I took this poor cat in from them.He was a mess.He HAD worms. We got him de-wormed 4 times. He is fine now but thae thought of my daughter getting something from my animals is disgusting. Also,he said parasites and cause gut problems.I hope this helps you...ne
Guest guest
Im not sure about the dog thing but I think parasites are in our foodl like meats. It is just that like the metals some peoples systems are better at detoxing them than others and so there is always the potential for them to thrive in our childrens already disrupted systems. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure that is true. Patti
Guest guest
Thank you so much. Would you happen to know how I could find out if Brady has parasites? My ped. isn't that supportive of medical interventions and would probably think I'm crazy, I don't even know if she would refer me to a gastr-dr. for him. I guess I could try to find one on my own around here in Louisville. I really wanted to take him to a DAN dr to check for allergies, etc..would they check for parasites too? Sorry for all the questions. Is there any way I can tell myself if there are parasites or would it hurt to treat him " just in case " . He's so little age wise, (29 months, 40in tall, 37lbs) I don't want to do anything that could hurt him. I don't know anything about this stuff and I'm so lost. Thanks again! Guest guest
Jenna just went through 2 rounds with pinworms. They are common in daycare/preschool settings because children put everything in their mouths. You have to wash their sheets and clothes after every use in hot water. The medicine is vermox and Jenna required 3 doses over a period of 4 weeks (90% are cured with 1 dose). The scratching got really terrible, and she would wake up screaming at night from (I suppose) the itching. Neither of her sisters got them but several other children at her school had to be treated. You can go in at night and look in their diaper/underwear and many times you can see the worms. Too gross for me, we relied in the lab tests. Valeri Re: [ ] OT again.sorry.: parasites, gut, and house pets? Thank you so much. Would you happen to know how I could find out if Brady has parasites? Guest guest
Donna,I forgot! My ped isn't supportive of anything and I mean anything. He is an asshole to put it bluntly. We go to Pediatric and Neonatal. She has been to a pediatric gastro named Dr.Donna Volk.Do not take him there. She told me my daughter was fine but I had one spoiled child on my hands and it was my fault she is like this.I walked out of the office and she said where are you going we aren't finished here I said oh yes we are. There is another doctor named Dr.s.These are the only 2 in Louisville.I heard really great things about Dr.s.If she has to go back to a pediatric gastro she will see Dr s.I havw also heard more horror stories about Dr Volk since we were there. Her naturopathic doctor said that almost all tests for parasites don't show anything. He said if your chid has digestion problems, overly smelly diapers, food problems, etc then s/he has parasites.if you want,go ahead and order a test from Great Smokies and see.I think I am going to treat her like she does.Agian, call me anytime.I had Moria call me one time.If you want ,call collect or call and I will call you right back. Thanks ne

I called Dr. Epstein from Brownsboro rd. He's a chiropractor involved with a program called KCC that I just found out about. He was sooo nice on the phone, I actually cried when I hung up because that was the first dr that called me back the same day and didn't rush me on then phone. He said they would test for all of those things including parasites. I meet with him June 4th. Hopefully things will go well with that. Guest guest
Donna,I have found that alternative medicine doctors really listen. When I took her to the naturopathic doctor we were there for over 3 hours. He sat right across from me and really listened and asked a lot of questions. The NAET doctor today talked to me from 11:30 until 2:00.I have NEVER found an MD to do that. They usually push you out the door after 15 minutes. My mom came over this evening and said Gillian looked better tonight then she has in a long time.I actually think we are on the right path .I ,too have cried many times. Now I am crying because I think I am actually helping my daughter.Who is your ped?Who delivered your son and where? I am trying to do a little research on the side! If you ever need anything, call me ne
