OT- Natural treatment for ear infections?

Hi group,

My 2 1/2 year old ASD son has an ear infection and was given

amoxicillan for it 4 days ago. We are in the middle of the worst

regression to date and it is AWFUL. I'm sure the rx is a major

factor, along with the fact that we are visiting family away from

home. He had nearly continual tantrums for about 3 hours tonight,

until he literally passed out in my arms. Just before he fell

asleep, he looked at me with this really anguished look on his sweet

little face. I felt like he was saying " I feel so bad. Can't you

help me, Mama? " It just breaks my heart.

He is GFCF and dye free, soy free, corn free, etc. plus we limit

phenols as much as possible. We started Houston enzymes about 3

weeks ago. I am getting those in every chance I get, but his

already picky eating and drinking habits have become even more so

since we've been here (it's been a week or so).

I've read on this list about using colloidal silver for yeast, but

does it treat other infections? If not, are there any other natural

remedies that anyone has tried for ear infections? I read the post

the other day about the wellness product for preventing infections,

and I plan on finding that this week, but we've got to knock out this

infection now. I'd love to dump the amoxicillin if we can treat the

infection without it.

BTW, this is only his second ear infection and second round of

antibiotics in his entire life. The first was just in October.
