Guest guest
Hi all! My daughter who will be 3 in March is dx as mild, high- functioning PDD and we are trying enzyme therapy using Peptizyde. We are in week 2 of enzymes. We started very slowly with only 1/2 capsule at 1 meal and gradually worked our way up from there increasing every 2 or 3 days. She has tolerated them well with little problems other than a slightly red bottom until 3 days ago when we went from 2 capsules (1 with breakfast and 1 with dinner) to 3 capsules (1 with each meal). Now we are seeing a major increase in tantrums and even some autistic-type behaviors that we have not seen before in her. She is mood swinging all over the place and screams if anything doesn't go her way. She has started tapping a book against her stomach while watching TV and scratching the back of her rubber duck from bathtime. These are new and strange behaviors for her. She is having some good reactions too, though. Her speech and communication are increasing and just the other day she started to turn the pages of her " My first word book " and point out objects naming them out loud. She is even playing with her " See and Say " by naming the animal and sound before activating the toy. Anyway, is it typical for withdrawl symptoms to not show up until in higher doses of enzymes? Is this what we are finally seeing? And if so, how long can we expect this bad behavior to last? I can't even take her out to the grocery store these days. Having her with me and my 5 month old baby is just too much to handle! Will this all even out? Does it mean we've reached the right dose for her? Should we continue to increase dosages over time?
