Guest guest
Hi everyone, Just about this time, about two years ago I was asking this group if getting braces would hurt. Well, fast forward 23 months, today I got my braces taken off. And, let me tell you, if there wasn't snow outside, I would be doing back flips down the street. This journey had its ups and downs, but a lot of downs were assuaged by the support and encouragement from this group. So, thank you (or y'all for the Southerners). Special appreciation goes to the OSS champions, Fiddlestickes, Cammie, Cheryl, and many other 'old timers' (but, let's call them sage veterans from now). I am completely thrilled from the results of the surgery (lower + genio) and the orthodontics to correct my under/crossbite. To all who are in any part of this process, this is no cakewalk. But, patience, faith in the docs and yourself, and this group will get you through it all. cheers, on Stats: 14 months braces pre-op 9 months braces post-op lower jaw moved back 6 mm and rotated 3 mm genio - chin shaved shorter and moved forward to compensate for mandibular setback 4 titanium screws 3.5 weeks off from work for recovery 48 cans of ensure/boost
