Guest guest
: Have you considered cranial-sacral therapy for your son? It can work wonders for teeth-grinding and related problems. There may be some type of constriction on your son's trigeminal nerve, which is linked up to both the jaw and the brain. This can lead to teeth grinding, migraines, orthodontal problems, etc. My kids both see an Osteopath who does cranial-sacral therapy (my 9 yr old was a tooth-grinder) and it has helped immensely. Guest guest
Hi , I just read your reply to . Can you explain the Cranial-sacral therapy? What does the therapist do? Guest guest
In Dr. Leo Galland's book Superimmunity for Kids he says lack of Magnesium can cause teeth grinding. This is my favorite book in the whole world. It has helped all 3 of my kids and me. Holly

Guest guest
Thank you everyone for your replies. Regarding zinc, I already give him a very small amount every few days (he cannot tolerate any more than that but it is enough to stop him chewing inedible items). We already have him on a reasonable dose of magnesium although I know the muscle spasms stop when we give him higher doses. Only trouble with that is he gets diarrhea so limits himself because of this. I have never tried the cranial massage which is a possibility and something I will look into. Many thanks for your help. Its great to have so many people who are prepared to work together to solve the problems we all face from time to time. Much appreciated. In addition to magnesium, I have heard that teeth grinding can be yeast issue, or metal issue. Does he have a yeast issue? Have you had his metals tested? Guest guest
My son used to do that a lot... He stopped when I added zinc to his supplements. Thanks, Rhonda in CA >> Rhonda: Cranial-sacral therapy is a holistic form of healing that involves precise but gentle manipulation of the bones (cranium, skeletal, pelvic) where distress/illness exists in the body, such that the " realignment " enables the body to heal itself. Both my boys (ages 9 and 5) get these treatments and they have had a great response to this. It is very non-invasive, very gentle, but very effective. Here's a website that gives a comprehensive overview of C-S therapy and how it can effectively eliminate jaw problems (TMJ, teeth clenching, teeth grinding, etc.): www.upledger.com/news/9607.htm
