Guest guest
HAVE YOU TRIED CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP, OATMEAL, JELLO,ECT. MAYBE THE EGGS AND MASHED POTATOES WERE JUST TOO HEAVY FEELING, OATMEAL MAY BE TOO SO I WOULD WAIT ON THAT TOO. TRY LIGHT FOODS AND IF YOU ARE STILL HAVING A HARD TIME YOU MAY NEED TO CALL YOUR DOCTOR. SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO HAVE A SCOPE PUT DOWN YOUR THROAT TO ENLARGE THE LITTLE OPENING DOWN THEIR, I FORGOT WHAT ITS CALLED, LOL, BUT ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE IT DONE, IT IS PAINLESS AND THEY ARE MUCH BETTER AFTERWARDS. Guest guest
Hi, I am 4 weeks out from my surgery (RNY) and am having problems introducing food. I am staying with soft food but so far everything gets me nauseated and sometimes I actually vomit. Shold I just stick to the boost and broths for awhile longer? Mashed potatoes and eggs were the first thing I tried and up they came so now I can not get that feeling and sensation out of my head to try other food. Any ideas? How often does everyone eat? How much I can get in 2 teaspoons of something soft, broth goes down the best. Help

Guest guest
Thank you so much for answer my panic call. I have spoken to the doctor they are slightly concerned but not overly anxious. I ahd some major problems during surgery and they feel all considered I am doing okay. I pretty much stick to drinking boost and anyother liquid I can muster down. Usually 2 teaspons is the max. It just gets stuck in my throat (feels this way) so I wait and eat alittle more in an hour or so. Everything in baby steps. I can't stand potatoes now they make me gag (LOL) I use to live on french fries and now forget it. Eggs have the same effect. These 2 were the first soft things I tried and I threw them up hence noe any thought of eggs or spuds stimulates my gag reflex. Talk about a head case!!
