Guest guest
I saved the link. It's in www.miragecenter.com - once you go to the site, select " The Mirage Center " , then select " About the Mirage Center " . Then at the bottom of that screen, there a section on " Video Documentary " & you click on the picture below to view it. Beware to anyone who watches it - It is very graphic. > > > > If your lower jaw bone breaks the way the nerve is not exposed > at > > > all > > > > (i.e. the surgeon does not see it) you do not get any numbness, > > > > temporary or permanent. Guest guest
Eek. I was peeking through my fingers for 10 seconds before I chickened out. Glad I didn't watch this preop - though I'm sure I wouldn't have clicked on the link. I like know what my doctor is doing to me, but there is such thing as too much information... (pre-oppers... if you dared watch this, don't let it get to you. I'm so happy with the results right now, I don't care what they did to get to that... You'll be asleep, that's all that counts! ) > I saved the link. It's in www.miragecenter.com - once you go to the > site, select " The Mirage Center " , then select " About the Mirage > Center " . Guest guest
I just watched it. It's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it's definitely not for the weak stomachs. That was (I think) an extreme case. I haven't heard of anyone on here having to wear the halo for 7 weeks...actually, that's the first I'd heard of the halo. But the results were great! Again, definitely not for those with weak stomachs. Pre-oppers...this is NOT the norm. But I don't recommend watching this pre-op. Guest guest
Thank You! Wouldn't have dared to see it before surgery....but afterwards, it will be interesting. I watched four out of five of my caesarian sections and loved every minute...trying to figure out what part was what. Of course, finding the baby was the best part! Guest guest
Yep, that was the video. I looked back through the archive but it must have been in the old club days because those messages were archived. I am over 9 months post op and I am not sure I want to watch past the musical part starting. I picked up some b6 and b12 as well as fish oil vitamins. I hope it will help with healing the numbness. We shall see. - > > > > > If your lower jaw bone breaks the way the nerve is not > exposed > > at > > > > all > > > > > (i.e. the surgeon does not see it) you do not get any > numbness, > > > > > temporary or permanent.
