Guest guest
, We are just giving the Peptizyde right now. Also, she is not gfcf. We opted to try enzymes first without the diet to disrupt our lives as little as possible. We will go gfcf if we have to though. About the magnesium or epsoms salts....do you give both together or is it a one or the other thing? Also, how much do you give and how often? Isn't epsom salt used as a laxative? Katelyn has had a chronic problem with constipation all her life. It is improving slightly with the Peptizyde but wouldn't the epsom salt help that further? Thanks for the advice and support. Things like this group are pretty much the only sources of info I have for treating my precious little girl. There are so few pediatricians that even know what PDD and autism are beyond the basics. And...treatment...their advice is to take your child home and " live with it! " Some EXPERTS, huh???? God forbid that they should someday discover that it is in many ways " allergy " related. Food allergies and sensitivies react in our children producing behavior problems. I'm learning so much every day. Thanks again. Barbara [ ] Re: Withdrawl and enzyme dosage Oh Barbara, you sound so concerned (of course). Give it at least a week, hopefully it will be past before that. Yes, it can definitely be " delayed " withdrawal, gut cleaning, or even yeast/bacteria die-off from the proteases fighting bad gut bugs back. The key here is that you are seeing good improvements along with the negative. If it was all negative that could be a concern that something was really not going well. Stay at this dose awhile until she is at least evened out. You can back down if it gets really difficult but don't go higher. Are you giving Zyme Prime or another general enzyme product as well? Often that counters the 'hyperness' seen by just giving a protease alone. Other ideas to ease things are giving magnesium and/or epsom salts. There promote calming by supplying often needed sulfur and magnesium. Keep in touch this week. .
