Hi Everyone,

I am just about 3wks post-op from a lower foward and lateral jaw

movement of 3mm. I have virtually no noticeable swelling at this

point. I am feeling better by the day. I still have this pulsating

nerve thing going on my right side. Sometimes these sensations are so

strong they keep me up at night. I still have some numbness but it

seems to be lessening as my nerves pulsate away. How long have u guy

experienced this? When does the numbness usually go away ?

I am still going to be wired shut for another 3wks. Does everything

really improve once u get those wires off? Lord I cannot wait. My

friends call me mumbles. U realize when ur wired what a gift it is to

really be able to communicate with each other. Did u guys find that

ur jaw starts to hurt when u talk too much? How weak is your jaw when

u finally get these wires out? Can u pig out? God I miss solid food.

Somehow blended food just looses something. Any suggestions on

filling foods that can be blended? I am a vegetarian. I teach for a

living wondering when I will be able to get back to work I was a

little dissapointed today. When my ortho told me that when I get the

wires out I have to keep these annoying surgical braces in for an

additional 3 months because he dosent want to traumatize the jaw

right now. Has anyone had a similiar experience?

I was also wondering about excercise. I am walking on the treadmill

at a slow pace. When can u usually start running?

In and all I am so thrilled I did the surgery I love the way it

looks. So does my boyfriend. I am sure I will love the way it

functions once it functioning I guess in big scheme a small price to

pay for great results for the rest of your life. Sorry so many

questions but I was having trouble logging in the last couple of days.

Regards & Happy healing to all,
