Bone Grafts & Headaches

There's been a lot of talk about bone grafts (using hip bone, cadaver

bone, etc) lately. Does everyone need a bone graft during surgery?

I'll be getting surgery done for an open bite but I don't remember my

surgeon mentioning anything about a bone graft.

Also, are headaches a frequent problem during recovery from surgery?

I've heard that even long after a person's surgery, headaches occur

more often and are more severe than they were before surgery was done.

Thanks a lot for any comments.

No. Not everyone needs bone grafts at all. Ask your doc what he

plans, if you're worried about it.

No, headaches are not a frequent problem. If you're having upper, you

will probably have congestion and swelling immediately post op, but

many people find that au contraire, their headaches they've suffered

before surgery go away afterward. Isn't that a nice side benefit!?!
