Your idea for squirting the SNY with a syringe...that's exactly how I do ALL of his liquid vitamins because he is so taste sensitive and you read my previous post about how the SNT squirt turned out! I don't know if you have had an opportunity to taste the " new and improved " SNT, but I am NOT sensitive and I was amazed at how strong the stuff is. I think Kirkman's probably did a great thing in reformulating it if it tasted bad before, but for my kid, who is so sensitive, there is no way to get the stuff into him. Other things that are more mild tasting-even if they taste bad, as long as I can mask it and make the bad a mild bad, I can get into him. This one, there is just no way. I really did dilute it to 1/4 tsp. to 8 oz. of water and, even at that dilution, it tasted like a sweet juice to me. So, imagine full strength or even lightly diluted. I'm sure that we will have other strong-tasting things in life to deal with, but I do appreciate that Kirkman's is so considerate and concerned with the various sensitivities of their customers so that they continue to formulate products that can be administered with a minimum of grief. Guest guest
Hey, Amber, Giving the enzymes and the zinc isn't a problem...it is giving zinc with other minerals including the minerals that come from food. A lot of sources say to give zinc away from food because of that. Spencer sounds incredibly taste sensitive (I understand how frustrating that can be - I am too, lol). The unflavored SNT might help. Another idea would be to use a syringe to squirt it down his throat. That tends to skip most of the taste buds altogether. Some kids thing it is fun. .
